Dustin L. Poché was born and raised in the greater New Orleans area. After high school, he graduated from Louisiana State University in 2007. Dustin remained in Baton Rouge for three more years, and graduated Cum Laude from Southern University Law Center in 2010. Thereafter, he returned to New Orleans and spent nearly two and a half years as an Orleans Parish Assistant District Attorney where he prosecuted over forty felony jury trials, numerous judge trials and countless motion hearings. After gaining invaluable courtroom and trial experience, Dustin began his career in civil litigation with a focus on personal injury, insurance defense and criminal defense, which included litigation in both state and federal courts in various jurisdictions. In order to enhance his legal expertise and sharpen his litigation skills, Dustin participated in the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) Building Trial Skills and Deposition Skills training.
Dustin actively litigates matters involving personal injury and insurance defense, including automobile and transportation litigation, premises liability, product liability, property and casualty, flood claims and commercial litigation. Although his practice is primarily located in the greater New Orleans area, Dustin represents clients and litigates matters throughout Louisiana and Texas, in both state and federal jurisdictions. He has also represented numerous NFIP flood insurers as first chair trial counsel in the defense of property damage litigation resulting from flood damage in Louisiana, Texas, New York and New Jersey.
Dustin is admitted to practice law in both Louisiana and Texas, and he is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana. He has also practiced as pro hac vice trial counsel in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of New York and District of New Jersey. In addition, he is a member of several associations, including: Louisiana State Bar Association, Themis Advocates Group, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Jefferson Parish Bar Association, New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, New Orleans Bar Association, Federal Bar Association and State Bar of Texas. Dustin has also received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV Preeminent rating.
He resides in Metairie with his wife, Mandy, and their daughter. During his free time, Dustin enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also appreciates time spent in the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing and playing golf.
