Kristie Mouney was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and grew up in the New Orleans area. Kristie has been practicing law for over 10 years, which included the defense of numerous insurance clients who represented a national insurance industry. Kristie is well-versed in federal court practice, as well as interpretation of federal policies and regulations relating to the National Flood Insurance Program.
Kristie attended Louisiana State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1999. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she moved to New Orleans to pursue a career as an Algebra teacher. After teaching Algebra for 3 years, she attended law school where she earned her Juris Doctorate from Tulane University Law School in 2005. Kristie has two certifications from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy for Building Trial Skills and for Deposition Skills.
In addition to Louisiana state courts, Kristie is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States District Court for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, and is currently admitted Pro Hac Vice in numerous federal jurisdictions across the nation.
Kristie is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute and National Business Institute. She has also received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV rating with a 4.8/5.0 peer rating.
Kristie enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Clayton, and her two children, Carter and Grace.
